Fixtures & Results
Year 7 travelled to RAAS last week for their second game of 2022. It was a slow start for both teams as they struggled to get past the oppositions defence and find the hoop. The score was 0-0 at the end of the first quarter. RAAS then found some form and took the lead in the second quarter. However, Beacon fought back and the score was 3-3 going into the final quarter. RAAS were searching for their winning goal however, great defending from Rejoice and Imogen stopped the waves of RAAS attacks. The final score was 3-3. Congratulations to Rejoice who was MVP!
Beacon 15 - Reigate 0
The year 7 girls recorded their biggest win of the season so far away at Reigate. Despite the drizzly conditions The Beacon were sharp and accurate in their passing and defence. Phoebe and Leila's shooting was outstanding throughout and the girls racked up the goals. The whole team played well defensively to keep a clean sheet and thoroughly deserved to win. Player of the match was Leila.
The girls travelled away to Carrington for their second away fixture of the season. Both teams were evenly matched with the score going into the first half break all square at 0-0. Both teams started to find their rhythm as time went on but there was still nothing to separate the two sides with the score 2-2 at then end of the second half, everything was still to play for. As the light faded The Beacon started to tire and Carrington went into the lead. The final score was 6-3. Well played to all girls who showed fantastic resilience until the final whistle. Congratulations to Imogen who received girl of the game.

Y7 Girls Netball
The Beacon v Warlingham 11 – 0
The Y7 girls had their first netball match last week against a traveling Warlingham team. The girls made a fantastic start scoring four goals in the first quarter. After the first quarter the girls never looked back. Rejoice made some great interceptions and blocks to keep the visitors goalless. Leah and Imogen worked well together moving the ball quickly from one end of the court, to the other giving our shooters the best opportunity to increase the lead. The girls played exceptionally well as a team and made the most of their possession with the ball. Well done all!
