This will be our last day where the school site is open for the vast majority of students. From Friday morning the school site will be open only to children of key workers, our students with EHCPs and a small number of other students until Monday 20th April at the earliest.

First Aid

FIRST AID PROCEDURES

 

STUDENTS WHO BECOME UNWELL

During lesson time:

  • students should inform their teacher if they become unwell
  • Staff will assess the illness and if necessary send the student to the medical room, it might be necessary for the student to be accompanied, particularly if he/she has a special medical condition

During break:

  • students should go directly to the first aid room

Pre-post school:

  • students should either report to the main office, or if the office is not staffed, find a member of staff who will locate a first aider or call an ambulance

STAFF AND STUDENTS WHO BECOME UNWELL DURING AN OFF-SITE ACTIVITY

  • the Party Leader is to consult the completed medical questionnaires to ascertain whether the condition is known and medication is to hand
  • assess the situation and either; use the venues own qualified first aider; call an ambulance; or if in a vehicle, drive immediately to a hospital
  • inform the parent /member of staff’s emergency contact
  • inform the school
