GLF Schools

GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.

The Beacon Allies

We are the Beacon Allies group.

An ally is someone who supports those in a minority group who may not always feel included. Our Ally Club organises various initiatives and activities that promote understanding and tolerance. We would love to host events such as awareness campaigns, workshops, and guest speaker sessions to educate students and staff about LGBTQ+ issues and the importance of being an ally. Our club creates a safe space where students can openly discuss their experiences and concerns, providing a support network for those who may be struggling with acceptance or discrimination. Ally Club also advocates for changes in school policies to ensure a more inclusive and equitable educational environment. By taking a proactive approach to inclusion and equality, Ally Clubs contribute to a school culture that celebrates diversity and empowers all students to be their authentic selves.

We would love to welcome you along on Wednesday break times in A19.

An Ally Club within a school is a powerful and inclusive organisation dedicated to fostering a safe and welcoming environment for all students, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other characteristic that may make them feel marginalised. Clubs like ours play a crucial role in promoting diversity, acceptance, and respect within the school community.
