GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.

    Wimbledon Ball girls and boys opportunity

    Wimbledon logoOur students here at The Beacon have an amazing exra-curricular opportunity to attend a club that will train you to be a Wimbledon Ball boy or girl ready for selection by the official Wimbledon selection board in February.

    Training will cover feeding, receiving, rolling, fitness and court knowledge and awareness. All skills are practiced and perfected during training so you can be the best possible ball person when it comes to selection.

    This is a highly competitive club with everyone fighting for a place for selection, so effort, attitude and resilience and endeavour are of the utmost importance. If you would like to work hard for the chance to be up close and professional with the best tennis players in the world at the Wimbledon Championships, then this club is for you!

    In 2025, three of our students were successful in being selected and had the most incredible time at the Championships. Could you be our next representatives handing tennis balls to Carlos Alcaraz, Jannick Sinner, Coco Gauff or Emma Raducanu...
