We’ve had an incredibly busy term in the sixth form and, as always, are very proud of the maturity of our students and the way they conduct themselves around the school.

Year 13 Exams

The exam season this year was extended so our students faced a gruelling two months of exams. As we know, these students did not sit their GCSE exams and faced a disrupted year 12 so we were immensely proud of the resilience and determination they showed. It was lovely to see the way that the students supported each other through the highs and lows of exam season. We look forward to celebrating their results on Thursday 18th August.

Year 13 Celebration

After such an intensive two years, it was wonderful to be able to celebrate our students on a beautiful summer evening last week. Students enjoyed a delicious meal on the piazza with a photo booth to capture their memories. An impromptu game of Hide-and-Seek was also enjoyed by many of our students. Our Head Students, Heather and Harley, hosted a unique awards ceremony for teachers and students. These awards were as diverse as Mollie for Most Likely to be Prime Minister and Jodie for Best Parking!

Thank you to everyone who helped create such a wonderful memory for our students.

Year 12 Work Experience

We were delighted to be able to put work experience back on the calendar this year. It is a great opportunity for students to explore different careers and gain skills vital for their next steps. Students chose a range of placements covering animal psychology, law, physiotherapy and  construction. Our students received highly positive feedback from the employers, complimenting our students on their professional attitude and their willingness to try new tasks. We are incredibly grateful to all the companies in our local community that offered their time for our students.

Student Leaders

Our student leaders play an important role in building our school community and act as role models for the younger years. In the past years, the student leadership team has been at the heart of improving wellbeing for our students and representing the views of the student body. The application process involves a written application, a presentation to staff and students and an interview. All students showed that they were clearly committed to improving our school and were full of ideas on how to achieve this.

After taking everything into consideration, we are delighted to announce that Louise C and Izzy W will be our student leaders for next year. They will be supported by a strong team of Deputy Head Students and prefects including Leia, Ruby, Jessie, Callum, Maisie, Emma P, Isaac, Alyssa and Ellie T.  Huge congratulations to all involved.
