Due to a major event taking place at the school this afternoon, Picquets Way and the surrounding roads are likely to be significantly busier than normal. Where possible, please make alternative arrangements for picking your son/daughter up from school at the end of the day.

The Geography Department have dodged the rain this week and taken 120 Geographers to sunny Folkestone to collect primary data for their GCSE coastal studies. Students have learnt to beach profile, analyse sediment, complete EQIs and field sketch.👍 https://t.co/P2DntVGCTw

Other information
  • The Modern Foreign Languages Department aims to offer a culturally rich and engaging programme of study which will enable all students to become confident linguists and meet the challenges at GCSE level.

Whilst there will be opportunities to explore different languages through extra-curricular activities, students will be allocated one language to study in Year 7: French or Spanish.

We cannot guarantee which language your child will study, but if you have a strong reason why your child should study either French or Spanish, we will take it into consideration.  Please note, studying a particular language at KS2 will not be considered a strong enough reason to study it in Year 7 as both languages will be taught as though students have no prior experience.

  • Please note, if you have indicated above that your child suffers from a medical condition which needs medical intervention, for example an asthma pump or Epipen, a separate Medical Plan form will be sent to you for completion.

ETHNICITY INFORMATION
  • Please note the information in this section is mandatory.  Any information you provide will be used solely to compile statistics, which will help us to support all our students in the most effective way.  The statistics will be passed on to the Local authority and the Department for Education.

Our ethnic background describes how we think of ourselves; it is not the same as nationality or country of birth.

The Department for Education recommends that young people aged over 11 years old should have the opportunity to decide their own ethnic identity.  Parents or carers are asked to support and advise children aged over 11 in making this decision.  Students aged 16 or over can make this decision for themselves.
