Food Preparation and Nutrition Curriculum Intent:

  • To develop the practical skills to create healthy meals
  • To explore and develop their understanding of a balanced diet, and safety practices in the kitchen
  • To develop technical skills in cutting, hob and oven management and cleaning.
  • To ensure lessons are accessible for all students regardless of their practical ability
  • To broaden students knowledge of healthy diets
  • To master a broad range of vocabulary within the topic and to be able to verbalise their learning
