World Views Religious Studies
RS/Worldviews Curriculum Intent:
- Our worldview is informed by many different lenses, and students will be asked to use their own lenses influence the way they view an issue.
- We are informed by our culture, our society, our family and friends, our faith (or lack of) and a number of other areas.
- Every person has a unique worldview and our lenses overlap to provide a unique understanding of an issue or topic.
- Worldviews is an interdisciplinary subject with a focus on different lenses that can be used to view an issue.
- The theological lens looks at the religious underpinnings; the philosophical lens looks at the deeper questions and the implications this has on reality, morality and how we can know and understand the world; and our sociological lens looks at the influence this has on society and the way we interact with each other.
