Year 7 and 8 geography students proved themselves to be ‘Brilliant Geographers’ yesterday at the Natural History Museum. They experienced earthquakes, stood beneath the moon and came face to face with a Tyrannosaurus rex. https://t.co/b2v9yTfaD2

7CR really excelled in their home learning on environmental issues. Tasked with investigating a current issue in the world, students presented their findings - presentations, interviews, cartoons, cakes, 3D models, posters, leaflets and quizzes. https://t.co/zokaUe6JSC

Yesterday was the final Music Festival of the year. Absolutely amazing talent and so much hard work from our staff and pupils. 5 venues, over 700 children, 26 schools all united by the power of music and a love of singing. Well done everyone!

The Year 9 boy’s football team began the defence of their league title this week. On Monday they travelled to De Stafford School and began the game on a very positive note.  Within the space of 10 minutes, Beacon were 2-0 ahead through well-taken goals from Jack and Tom.  Beacon dominated possession in the first half, playing simple passing football that saw them double their lead to 4-0 by another goal from Tom as well as Sam S.  The half time break couldn’t come quick enough for De Stafford as they were finding it increasingly difficult to maintain possession or territory for any real length of time.  The second half was a mirror image of the first in terms of domination from Beacon.  A third goal from Tom saw him seal his hat-trick and three further goals from Sam S., Sam W., and Dan meant that Beacon finished 8 – 0 winners!  In reality, the man of the match award could have been given to anyone of the boys that played, however, the honours were given to Tom for three well taken goals and 3 assists.  A superb start to the new season.  Well done boys!
