BAG2SCHOOL RECYCLING SCHEME

We are happy to announce that we are resuming our textiles recycling scheme this year.  Due to the pandemic, this has been postponed. This will be our tenth Bag2School collection.

The Bag2School textile recycling scheme was established in 2001. The charity works in partnership with schools by collecting and selling donated textiles to importers and wholesalers in many countries of Europe, Africa and Asia.

Unwanted textiles are placed in recycling bagS/black bin bags, and these are collected from school by the Bag2School charity. The bags are then weighed and a cheque is sent to the school. The charity currently pays 40p/kg.

The last collection resulted in the school receiving £228.40, which means our running total is an amazing £2998.50.

Please ensure your donated textiles are in good condition

Textiles permitted include:

Textiles not permitted include:

Clean clothes

Pillows

Shoes with laces (tied in pairs please)

Single shoes

Handbags

Mats

Blankets

Bric a brac

Soft toys

Duvets

Belts

Carpets/Bedding

HOW CAN YOU DONATE YOUR TEXTILES?

If you would like to donate your unwanted textiles, please place the items in recycling bags/black bin bags, and bring them into school by 9am on Monday 13th June.

The bags will be collected by the charity by 9.15am on the same day. More information on the scheme can be found at Bag 2 School.

I am sure you will agree that this is a very worthwhile cause and provides a fantastic opportunity for our students to participate as active citizens to help others across the World.

Thank you very much for your support and I very much look forward to receiving your textile donation on Monday 13th June.

Please do not hesitate to contact me should you wish to discuss this further.
