Phoebe and Leila's shooting was outstanding throughout and the girls racked up the goals. The whole team played well defensively to keep a clean sheet and thoroughly deserved to win. The Player of the match was Leila. Mr M Barnard https://t.co/or5YTMnrIz

Netball Year 7 - Beacon 15 - Reigate 0 The year 7 girls recorded their biggest win of the season so far away at Reigate. Despite the drizzly conditions, The Beacon were sharp and accurate in their passing and defence. https://t.co/iH9qj3Jt5K

A real combative performance from both sides meant it was close until the end when Jacob was put through on goal to make it 2-0 and game over. Beacon now face Glyn or Carshalton Boys in the next round! TGA https://t.co/IwXTbRTTHJ

It was not long before this paid off as Jack's flick at the near post meant the ball dropped nicely for George to spectacularly overhead kick the ball to loop over the goalkeeper to make it 1-0 Beacon; cue Beacon celebrations. https://t.co/bfZtDiJLkK

The threat of Jamie's long throw was evident in the first half so at half time a strategy was formed. https://t.co/5uKJQTWhWy

A few back to back injuries for Beacon meant we changed positions of players which actually allowed us to gain control of key areas of the pitch that Greenshaw had dominated at the start and also launch our own attacks. At half time it was an even 0-0. https://t.co/R4DV7nClr8

The year 11 football team marched on in the Surrey Cup thanks to a hard fought 2-0 victory over Greenshaw. The game started with Greenshaw slightly on top and creating a couple of chances but none to worry Ryan in goal. https://t.co/QcygRLDrkn

A Well being Project

The Beacon School key worker students have been busy in school making wrapped hangings and painting pebbles.  The results of their fantastic work can be seen at the front of the main school entrance for all to see and enjoy and forms the beginning of our school Well-being project.

We have all been living in unusual and often challenging circumstances.  It has been hard on us all emotionally, physically and mentally.  So we would like to challenge every member of the Beacon School community to create a piece of Art at home.  On our return to school these pieces of Art will be displayed in groups in different parts of the school environment.  The aim of this is commemorate our resilience in coping with what we have been through and to celebrate our returning to school and resuming our lives as a community.

We are asking you to paint and wrap sticks, pebbles and stones, or to create your own weaving, all with materials that you have collected or might be laying around the house.

Most importantly, remember that the art work will deteriorate over time, especially through the winter months. Do not be upset by this as it is purposeful.  The slow deterioration of the art work symbolises the transition of us returning to our ‘new’ normal.

Guidance on how to create your art work with be shared with you in the coming weeks. Remember to have fun and get lost in the art making.
