The Beacon School Remembrance Exhibition in Banstead

The Beacon School Centenary Remembrance Project 2018

On Saturday, 10th and Sunday, 11th November The Beacon prepared a display at the Church Institute in Banstead as part of the Armistice Remembrance Commemoration.

Students from different year groups marked the centenary of the end of the Great War by producing a range of work to show their personal interpretations on the events of the conflict and it’s legacy.  The students were given free reign to produce their work in whatever format they wanted to.  Below there are examples of artwork, family research, archaeological collections and extended written work.

As a school we marked the centenary of the Armistice in a 2 minute silence and with students playing the Last Post in an assembly.  We are very proud of the way our students have paid their respects and embraced Remembrance on this significant anniversary.

We will remember them.
