The Beacon School were pleased to welcome John and Emily from Toyota today, who presented a £1750 cheque to members of the Student Council and Headteacher Keith Batchelor.
The money will be spent on facilities that will lead to the reduction of waste plastic around the school, with the hope that all students will bring their own reusable bottles by this time next year. The idea came directly from the wishes of our students, channelled through The Student Council, which meets twice every half term.
It was decided that Year 11 Representative Olivia would write a letter to the Toyota “Fund for a Better Tomorrow”, asking for assistance with this timely and important cause. Well done Olivia for writing an eloquent and convincing letter! We are very grateful to Toyota for helping with this project and look forward to working together on more endeavours in the future.
