Fixtures & Results
The year 8 football team played Merstham Park in a league match. The team had a great start to the game with a dominant performance. This quickly followed with a great goal from a cross to make the game 1-0.
The Beacon continued to work hard and were staying strong in defence. Another cross into the box was met with a great header to make it 2-0. This was followed by numerous attacks against Merstham which all resulted in a goal. At half time the score was 5-0 to Beacon.
The start of the second half, The Beacon carried on their attack with a dominant performance. The game ended 7-0.
An excellent performance from the Year 8 Team.
Year 8 Football vs Warlingham
The year 8 football team played Warlingham School in a Surrey Cup Game. With this being the team’s first game together they started off strong. With a free-kick near the half way line, Goncalo Ramos managed to strike the ball and beat the keeper making the score1-0.
The Beacon continued to work hard and were searching for another goal. This soon followed by another freekick from Goncalo. The keeper managed to save it this time but with great pitch placement, Jack Britton managed to slot the ball in the bottom corner.
The Beacon were leading at half time with a two-goal advantage. Unfortunately, this didn’t last long with Warlingham coming back and taking the lead with four incredible goals. The game finished 4-2 to Warlingham.
An incredible performance from The Beacon against a very strong and successful side. A performance to be proud of despite the result.
