Girls uniform: We just want to confirm that last summer we changed the uniform policy to allow girls to wear black socks with their skirts in the summer term. I know that a number of families have not picked up on this change so hopefully this helps clarify the situation.

Due to a major event taking place at the school this afternoon, Picquets Way and the surrounding roads are likely to be significantly busier than normal. Where possible, please make alternative arrangements for picking your son/daughter up from school at the end of the day.

The Geography Department have dodged the rain this week and taken 120 Geographers to sunny Folkestone to collect primary data for their GCSE coastal studies. Students have learnt to beach profile, analyse sediment, complete EQIs and field sketch.👍 https://t.co/P2DntVGCTw

Year 10 District Cup Final 2019

The Beacon Year 10 boys football team are a special bunch. I have managed them for 4 years and have been astounded time and time again by their talents, determination and high levels of sportsmanship. The boys found themselves in a cup final for the 3rd time, to make this 3 years running that this team have won both the league and cup double. The game was to be played at Glyn playing fields versus a strong Oxted team. The pitch was dry and crisp which made the ball very bouncy and difficult to control. The game was very scrappy to start and both teams could not seem to get a foot on the ball or keep possession. Will was chasing every single ball down and not giving their defenders a seconds rest. His efforts were truly rewarded when he chased down a ball over the top and managed to put it high past the keeper and into the top corner. Half time at 1-0 both teams were tired and the heat was clearly playing a massive part in this one. After half time Oxted came out determined and managed to get their goal with a neat lob from their striker. At 1-1 the game was tight and both teams were pushing for that winning goal. Beacon had their fair share of set pieces and managed to get a goal from a scrappy corner, that was headed home into the roof of the net by Josh. We killed the game off keeping possession and cam out deserved winners 2-1. I have loved every minute managing this group of boys and could not be prouder of what they have achieved. Thank you once again to our amazing parents for all your support! Another season comes to a close and I am already looking forward to next year. Come On Beacon!

Year 10 Boys Football

Beacon 1   -   Oxted 0

The Beacon boys were in action again tonight away at Oxted school. The game was extremely physical, and there were a lot of tackles going in. The surface was slippery and both teams were finding it difficult to play football. Some casual play from their winger resulted in Callum stealing the ball and sticking it into the bottom corner. Beacon as always played with pride and demonstrated fantastic sportsmanship on the pitch. Another win for the boys and another proud Mr Tyson. Come on Beacon!
