Year 10 Football vs Riddlesdown

The Year 10 football team played Riddlesdown Collegiate in a Surrey Cup Game. With the pitch being  very wet and muddy, the boys had a great start with a dominant performance. This quickly followed with a great goal from Tom who slotted the ball in the bottom corner to make the game 1-0.

The Beacon continued to work hard and were searching for another goal. Unfortunately, with a good display of football by Riddlesdown, The Beacon conceded two goals. With 5 minutes before the final whistle, The Riddlesdown keeper made an error resulting in the ball passing his line to make the game 2-2.

The Beacon stepped up for the penalty shoot-out confident in their performance so far. A great save from Billy to start the shoot-out off, followed by strong penalties from Sam, Billy and Ollie. Unfortunately, it wasn’t meant to be with Riddlesdown stealing the win 6-5.

An incredible performance from The Beacon against a very strong and successful side. All the boys should be very proud with how they played.
