Retweeted From BIEA

A very good panel discussion on the use of tech in classrooms. Thandie's students worked through two BIEA STEM competitions during the lockdown, a prime example of using the right tech to support learning. ✍️https://t.co/51jYjrfD2D https://t.co/ZGEmdYJCVH

The Beacon Science Autumn Stem Challenge

For the past 3 months Year 7-10 have been collating data regarding home waste and designing compost bins and partnered with students at Lady Eleanor Hollis and other Schools in China.

Students in Year 10 Grace-Lily and Alex were then invited to present their work at the Annual launch of the BIEA International STEM competition for which The Beacon School team Amet Activists won in 2020 with their Amphibious vehicle design.

Alex was also invited to interview for the Europe news channel CGTN and share our plan as a STEM Club to get our compost bins made and get The Beacon School families composting to reduce organic waste ending up in land fill the interview can be found in the link below:

We would like to congratulate students for their research and thank the DT department for making our prototype compost bin.
