For those who don't know, Multiple Sclerosis is a condition that can affect the brain and spinal cord, causing a wide range of potential symptoms, including problems with vision, arm or leg movement, sensation or balance.

The Lovely Mr McSweeney Terry is doing a walk for charity and hiking Ben Nevis in Edinburgh during of 3rd and 4th July. I am doing this with my best friend and we are both raising for MS having lost members of our family to this horrible condition.

Parent/Carer Consent Form

Please note the Data Protection Act 2018 provides individuals the right to withdraw their consent at any time.  If you wish to withdraw your consent for all, or some of the items, which you previously consented to please contact the school at info@thebeaconschool.co.uk.

Off-site activities
  • The school will send you information about each tip or activity before it takes place.  You can, if you wish, tell the school that you do not want your son or daughter to take part in a particular trip or activity.

    Written parental consent will not be requested from you for most of the off-site activities offered, for example, visits to local amenities as such activities are part of the school's curriculum and usually take place during the normal school day.  More information is available in the school's off-site activities policy.  However, we will require consent online via ParentPay.

  • Open and effective communication is important, for not only the safety and wellbeing of our students, but to share their achievements from both home and school.

  • The Beacon Friends' Association (BFA) plays an important part in supporting the work we do by arranging events, helping in school and donating the funds they raise to to buy equipment for the school.

  • From time to time we are asked to advertise local community activities and charitable events taking place at our school or in the surrounding area.  I give my consent for the school to:

Before/after school clubs run by external providers
  • Some of our before and after school clubs are run by external providers.  They offer additional opportunities for children attending our school.  We offer music lessons during lesson time.  To receive information about the opportunities available to your children before and after school/lunchtime and music lessons, please indicate your preference below.

Photography, Films, Video, Media and Social Media
  • Occasionally photographs, films and videos are taken at school for the creation of promotional material, for example the school newsletters, special events, school prospectus and website.  Please note that any media taken by a school can be shared between GLF Schools.

    Photographs and news items posted on the school website can also be shared on social media.  We will not name an individual child in any photograph.  If you are content for your son or daughter to be photographed, filmed or videoed please answer consent below:
