The Curriculum at Key Stage 4

The Core Curriculum consists of subjects that all students study; it has been designed to ensure they have a broad and balanced education. Students begin their Key Stage 4 courses in Year 9 and are required to study the core curriculum of English Literature GCSE, English Language GCSE, Mathematics GCSE, GCSE Science courses, PE and Personal, Social and Ethics Education. Students then study four option choices; there is a wide range of subjects to choose from. This allows the students to maintain a wide choice of future subjects for study in the Sixth Form and beyond. For many students their personalised Key Stage 4 curriculum will include the English Baccalaureate suite of subjects. We also offer a number of carefully selected vocational courses that also have progression routes into the Sixth Form. Further information can be found in the Curriculum Guides for the relevant year.
