Admission into Year 7 in September
The school’s admission criterion sets out admission preferences in case of over-subscription. Admission is organised county wide by the local authority, Surrey County Council (SCC). Parents are asked to complete an online application form (paper copies are available upon request) by the deadline set by local authority and are normally advised on 1 March preceding September entry as to whether or not they have been successful with their choice of school.
Admission into the Sixth Form
The Sixth Form admission criteria sets out the academic standards required for acceptance into the Sixth Form. It is recommended that students wishing to join the Sixth Form arrange an interview with the Director of the Sixth Form prior to applying.
For late entrants i.e. all other admissions except for Sixth Form and entry into Year 7 in September, parents are advised to contact the School Admissions Officer, on 01737 359103 x 1202 to check whether the school has vacancies for the relevant year and to arrange an interview and obtain an application form if there is a vacancy.
In accordance with the School Admissions Code, The Beacon School is consulting on its proposed admission arrangements for entry to the school in September 2017. Please refer to the DRAFT documentation and letter under 'Featured Content' , which details the changes in red. The consultation period lasts from Thursday 17th December 2015 until Thursday 28th January 2016 and all responses must be received by the date specified.
