Examination Information

End of Year Examinations for Years 7, 8, 9 and 10

One of our key values at The Beacon School is for every individual to aim high and we anticipate all our students rising to the challenge of the examinations in order to achieve their full potential.

End of year examinations take place during the Summer Term. The key principles for the examinations are as follows:

  • Students develop effective strategies to retain skills and knowledge over a period of time.

  • Students demonstrate skills and knowledge in a formal arrangement.

  • Students acquire exam preparation skills, including organising revision timetables and the development of effective revision strategies.

The level achieved in these assessments informs the overall Teacher Assessment Levels for the year and are reported separately in the final End of Year Report.

External Examinations for years 11, 12 and 13

The featured content on this page aims to provide external GCSE, GCE AS/A2 and BTEC details to students, parents/carers and staff along with the exam rules and regulations.

The majority of examinations for this academic year will take place from 14 May to 28 June 2018. Students are supported robustly by the teaching staff through booster sessions, revision classes and materials to assist with exam preparation. Revision schools will be running during February half term, Easter and the May half term.

Timetables for internal and external exams will be available once they are finalised.
