The Year 8 Beacon Football Tournament

On 29th March, The Beacon hosted its first open schools sporting event; the Year 8 Beacon ‘B’s Football Tournament. The tournament was set up to try to give Year 7 and 8 boys who wouldn’t usually get a chance to represent their school in a football fixture a chance to compete. It was a fantastic event that saw 7 schools come together to try and win a set of medals for their school. The games were played in a great spirit with a lot of smiling faces. As we were hosting, it was even more fitting that our Year 8 B team came out overall winners with 19 points! This tournament is now an annual event in The Beacon calendar.
