Youth Jazz Bands

Two local youth Jazz Bands now open to new members!

The Epsom Youth Jazz Ensemble & Epsom Youth Big Band are now recruiting new members and are on the lookout for enthusiastic young musicians to join. Both bands run outside of school hours on a Tuesday afternoon/evening at Stamford Green School in Epsom and are run and directed by respected local musician and teacher, Ben Tompsett.

Ben is primarily a Jazz Saxophonist and Pianist, with nearly 20 years of experience working as a musician, teacher and composer. The Junior Jazz Ensemble has no age or grade restrictions and is open to most instruments. The Big Band is more suitable for those approaching year 9 and above with a playing level of Grade 4-8. The bands are now entering their 10th year and continue to grow in strength and number, playing a variety of Jazz, Funk and Contemporary styles including vocal numbers and music from TV and Film. Please email Ben for more details. bentompsett@me.com
